Since October 7th, 2023, many people around the world have described the actions of the Israeli government and the IDF in Gaza as constituting a mass genocide against the Palestinian population. In response, millions have taken to the streets globally to protest and to urge their governments to call for an immediate ceasefire.

However, these atrocities did not begin on October 7th. Israeli settlers have been accused of committing crimes since the displacement of Palestinians in 1948, and the West Bank and Jerusalem have been under Israeli military occupation since June 7th, 1967 after the June war.
